decay is great at initial laning phase when enemy has dual or aggresive trilanes keeps enemy heroes low on life so they cant even dare to last hit u should use this carefully to save mana for tomb/soul rip and it never helps if enemy recovers lost str during battle
i highly recommend to play undying with an aggresive lane partner with 2 early points on soul rip you can save urself/partner from dying at early (250 hp potential heal) also a great nuke at lvl 4 kinda shaky because u need creeps but helps u a great amount winning lane and helping friendly heroes
this ult brings out true nature of undy as you slow enemy heroes and increase their dmg taken you will heal as enemy units die NEVER skip a point on ultimate

As a 5 position sup most of your starter gold are gone anyway, take some tangos (try using them without decay str buff to be effective) You can save extra 100 for stout shield or go with 2 branches

Stout shield is a must for undying especially for an aggresive one (you should play it like that)
early wand especially against heroes with low cd casts will help you stay on lane and extra mana is great for undys low cost early spells (1/2 lvl decay/soul rip)
undy is quite fast but u will buy this anyway :)
Kinda situational great for chasing and outlaneing enemy carries but delays your pms and/or boots every player should use his/her own judgement to buy this

BEST item on undy ultra cost effective makes u worthy to undying name. with decay boost+soul rip+wand charges u can get out most of sticky situations i prefer buying this over basilius cuz dmg reduction is ridiculously good and with undy's abysmal agi gain its great to have that near 1 base armor
a must have at all games since as a support u need stats and survivability.
if your team have no "fast mek" builders (enigma,viper, chen etc) u should build one undy benefits from both armor and regen also u have a decent mana pool with arc bot to use this item and still create chaos at combats
against more magic dmg based enemy teams great against heavy nukers because u have a relatively small hp pool for a strength hero makes your job easier going to high ground against counter-pushers
u should buy this if u are having toruble staying alive in combats against single target focusers (slark,pa,lina,lion) this will buy u 5 secs to use ur spells and lets ur ulti work a little longer

extremely situational only when u have lots of gold and your carry needs to avoid some huge single target spells (doom,finger,necro ulti etc )
kinda luxurious for a #5 support but works wonders with some heroes which has high damage output ( necrophos, zeus, krobelus even pa )
great with chasing gives you mana and hp so helps u live up to undying name easy to build cripple works miracles during combats especially when u have to kite this can trade with euls when u have no disables on your team to break teleports
